JANUARY 1ST RAW

Jeff Hardy came out to the ring for a match before Rob Conway interrupted him. Conway said he was going to be a winner this year. He said if he couldn’t beat Hardy tonight, he’d quit Raw.

Jeff Hardy v. Rob Conway
Conway hit a kick to the gut and whipped Hardy to the buckles but got rolled up in about two seconds. Yep, that’s it.

JANUARY 7TH

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE CAGE MATCH
JEFF HARDY VS. JOHNNY NITRO

There is a referee inside the Steel Cage with Hardy and Nitro. Some quick attempts both Hardy and Nitro to escape the cage, with Hardy going for the door and Nitro trying to climb out. Hardy hit an impressive dropkick off the top on Nitro, but also came down on his back as well. Some more big spots followed with Hardy trying to climb over the top of the cage with Nitro suplexing him back into the ring. Nitro come back with a huge sunset flip into a powerbomb off the top on Hardy. Hardy responded with a Swanton Bomb off the cage on Nitro, but Nitro got his foot on the bottom rope to break the pinfall. Hardy missed a Twist of Fate attempt on Nitro. The finish saw Nitro start climbing up the cage to get out, but Hardy was faster and kicked out the cage door to escape and Nitro ended up crotching himself on the top of the door trying to jump out.

JANUARY 8TH RAW

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy v. Kenny Dykstra

The two locked up in the middle of the ring and Hardy backed him into the corner. The referee broke up the hold and Dykstra hit a boot to Hardy’s cut. He rammed Hardy’s head of f the turnbuckle and after an Irish whip, missed a follow up and got drop kicked for it. Hardy hit his springboard double stomp in the corner before sending Kenny to the outside.

Kenny wobbled around on the outside. Hardy dropkicked the challenger in the back before launching himself over the top rope and to the floor, clattering into Kenny on the way down. JR said he saw the crash, but wondered if Jeff did the old ‘burn’ as the two lay on the mat rolling around in pain.

****Commercial****

We came back to Kenny being in complete control with a rear chin lock. Hardy fought out and sent Kenny into the ropes, but kept the old head down and got caught with a swinging neck breaker. Kenny hit two clotheslines before going for a cover that only got a two count. Dykstra hit a nice running reverse elbow and again a second cover only led to a two count.

Kenny clamped on another rear chin lock and sent Hardy off the ropes, but Hardy caught him with a Jawbreaker. Hardy hit a flying fore arm and some back elbows that helped swing momentum in his favor. Hardy hit a whisper in the wind and scored a two count. He whipped Kenny to the buckles but got caught wit ha boot on the way in. Kenny went for a move off the top ropes but Hardy caught him with a kick to the gut. Hardy came off the ropes but was held up by Johnny Nitro. Kenny waited to pounce on Hardy, but Ric Flair showed up and low blowed him. Hardy lined him up for a twist of fate and connected and made the cover for the win.

JANUARY 15TH RAW

Mixed Tag Team Match
Johnny Nitro & Melina v. Jeff Hardy & Maria

Nitro jumped on Hardy with some forearms to start the match before hitting his spinning leg drop. Hardy fought back with some punches and a kick to the gut. He went for a twist of fate before Nitro scurried away and tagged in Melina. Maria had to come in of course as well.

Maria gained the initial advantage, smashing Melina’s head into the buckles and hitting a running bulldog. She went for the cover but got nothing. Melina distracted the referee enough to allow Nitro to nail Maria in the back. Melina tied Maria up in the ropes and hit some stiff kicks to the back before cinching in a BRUTAL looking Camel Clutch. Melina broke the hold hitting some cross faces. Maria fought back briefly before getting caught with a side suplex, but Maria hit a hurricanranna to get out of it and a tag was made.

Nitro knocked Hardy to the mat but Jeff quickly rose up and hit some clotheslines an a flying forearm. Hardy hit an enzeguiri and followed it up with a whisper in the wind. Hardy went for the Swanton, but Melina came over to interfere. Maria cut her off but bought Nitro enough time to make a go at Hardy up top. Hardy knocked Nitro off hit perch and connected with the swanton bomb for the pin fall victory.

Winners: Jeff Hardy & Maria via pin fall

JANUARY 22ND RAW

Smackdown v. Raw Challenge Match
Jeff Hardy v. Joey Mercury

Mercury was wearing a good old face guard on his way to the ring.

Hardy came sailing over the top rope and met the incoming Mercury with a flying senton before tossing the Smackdown star into the ring. Mercury came back with a kick back inside the ring and tossed Hardy immediately right back to the outside.

Johnny Nitro began peeling back the concrete cover before the referee tossed him from the ringside area. Mercury began working over Jeff in the ring, hitting some clotheslines and some right hands to Jeff Hardy’s face. Mercury slapped on a side headlock but Hardy fought out with some elbows. Hardy hit some forearms before hitting Whisper in the Wind.

Hardy capped it off with a twist of fate which mauled Joey Mercury’s face and enabled him to get the pin fall victory.

Winner: Jeff Hardy via pin fall

JANUARY 29TH RAW

Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy v. The Great Khali

The referee went to show the belt and Khali grabbed it from him. Hardy tried to punch Khali, but got dumped over the top rope like he was a rag doll. Khali picked him up from outside the ring and brought him up to the apron and hit a few clubbing blows before just chucking him into the ring.

Khali hit a head butt out of the corner and chopped Hardy in the head. Khali hit a huge chop to the chest before Khali went for a body slam. Hardy slid out and tried to mount some sort of offense, but Khali just smacked him back down to the mat.

Hardy ducked under a punch and hit whisper to the wind . Khali stumbled onto the ropes and Hardy tried to crotch him there. Khali shoved him off before regaining his senses and chopped Hardy off the top rope to the floor. The referee made the 10 count to end the match. JR and King wondered if he just showed up to destroy someone.

Winner: The Great Khali via count out
